How To Use an Alternate Source Viewer with Internet Explorer

How To Use an Alternate Source Viewer with Internet Explorer

By default when you use the View Source feature of Internet Explorer it launches Windows notepad as the text editor. This tweak lets you choose which editor to use.

Open your registry and create the key below if it does not already exist.

Set the (Default) value to equal the full path and filename of the required text editor.

Restart Internet Explorer for the change to take effect.

Registry Settings

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\
View Source Editor\Editor Name]
Value Name: (Default)
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: Path and Filename of Editor
